| Genesis Aviaries is a small, home-based aviary located near Calgary, Alberta Canada. We also own and run Moore's Greenhouse. Situated in a small village, we raise a variety of parrots including; Parrotlets, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, Conures, Sun conures, Red Belly Parrots, Indian Ringneck Parakeets, African Grey Parrots, Goffin’s Cockatoos, Umbrella Cockatoos and Blue & Gold Macaws. Future plans may include Eclectus. We raise only a small number of birds to ensure each is given the love and attention it deserves. Our birds are kept in pairs in our home, they are ‘pets first’ and breeding is merely a hobby. They all have names, they are treated with respect and their individually is accepted and adored – not all birds are alike. Our home is in a peaceful country setting, we are non-smokers, maintain G-rated language and all birds are kept in bright sun-filled rooms (no basement-birds & no lonely out-buildings) with plenty of fresh air. Windows are kept open whenever temperatures allow and we make use of many HEPA filters to keep the air clean. Birds are sold privately & directly to the New Pet Owner – we are not a ‘bird-mill’ type facility. Babies are fully-weaned before being sold and are ‘abundance-weaned’ to a wide assortment of fresh foods. ‘Abundance-weaned’ simply means the babies are offered a large selection of healthy foods and allowed to learn to eat at their own pace – we offer them hand-feeding formula until they are ready to refuse it completely. We will continue to offer the food each night to be certain the baby is weaned, as well we keep a close watch to be sure everyone is eating well on their own. Babies are trained to drink from a dish as well as a water-bottle, however we feel a water bottle is more sanitary than a dish which may easily become contaminated and make your bird/s sick. Please click here for important information on banding birds. Our baby birds are Hand-raised, Close-banded (for identification purposes), come with a Hatch Certificate and Health Guarantee. DNA sexing is included in the price of many larger species – please see our PRICE LIST for further information. Babies also come with a small sample of food, care sheet and toy. We offer free counseling for the life of your bird – in fact we offer FREE email and telephone assistance to many bird owners, regardless of where you purchase your bird. Pineapple Conures, Cinnamon and yellow-sided conures, Poicephalus New birds to the Aviary-family are quarantined in a separate building for prevention of disease.
