| We are a small home-based *Aviary and are located in Alberta Canada in a tiny rural village 45 minutes NE of Calgary. All of our birds are kept in the house and given plenty of love and attention. They are fed a wide variety of foods and depending on species this includes sprouted seeds, seeds, nuts, fresh fruits and veggies, grains and more. A varied diet is key to health and happiness. Birds are kept in pairs, strict records are kept and baby birds are banded with a coded band from the Avicultural Advancement Council of Canada This is an excellent means of identification proving age and origin of the bird as well as providing a way to trace your bird if s/he should ever go missing. Band Code: ACME Genesis Aviaries is a long-time member in good standing with the A.A.C.C. Proper, coded, closed Leg Bands are SAFE; they offer comprehensible evidence that the bird was raised by a reputable, knowledgeable breeder and provide registration and identification. The myth that bands are not safe originates from inexperienced persons who do not band with proper size bands or provide dangerous environments with objects with which their bird may be trapped or injured. Your bird may safely wear this band for his/her entire life. Since her very first Budgie, when she was a little girl Sandra has had a passion for birds. Now with over 30 years experience ... she is happy to share her life with numerous feathered companions... from the smallest Parrotlets ... to the Blue & Gold Macaws. | *Note - We run a Closed-Aviary in our home and do not offer tours. Appointments may be arranged to meet Sandra & feathered friends in the small meeting room. A closed-Aviary is the best defense against the spread of disease - all new birds to our home are quarantined in a separate air-space for 90 days. A Closed Aviary is also best for the health and well-being of the birds so as not to disturb them with strangers - and it provides a level of security limiting the number of visitors. Thank you for your understanding. |
